Judges

A couple of Judges, in trouble for the bribes were taking, along side of the fact that they sent children to jail, at the bequest of the jail owners. I think that the judges ought to be be sentenced to the maximum. Death.

This got me to looking around the internet about judges, crime, and the jail populations. What did I find? This country has gone crazy over locking someone away. You can read all about here, the Pew Center on the States.

We are going to talk about number of persons under correctional supervision. That means that your counted if your in jail, prison, on probation, on parole.

In 1980 the totals were 1,842,100. In 2007 it was 7,328,200. Let’s see what we’re doing as compared the the rest of the world.

United States 738
France 85
United Kingdom 124
Russian Federation 611
China 118
Canada 107

This is only some. You can see the whole thing here.

You mean that Americans are so crime-ridden that we have to put 738 out of 100k more of our population compared to France’s 85 out of 100k?

Just who are the worst?
United States 738
Rwanda 691
Russian Federation 611
Saint Kitts and Nevis 547

I think Rwanda must a peaceful place. With all of their criminals locked up.

Are you kidding me? The United States is leading Rwanda on the number of people we got in our jails? Maybe Rwanda is trying to beat the U.S.. You know what, if the Rwanda’s didn’t kill their opponents, just put them in jails, they would have us beat.

Explosive growth in the number of people on probation or parole has propelled the population of the American corrections system to more than 7.3 million, or 1 in every 31 U.S. adults

That’s pretty bad. 1 out of 31. I wanted to look up my state. Georgia. It couldn’t be that bad, could it? But of course. It seems that Georgia is the Number 1 of sending there young men off to prison.

My god, Georgia sending 1 out of 13. That’s ridiculous!

Led by probation, the correctional population has
tripled in 25 years.

It all got to do with the money. The justice system have got their jobs. And they want more.

If you want to read up on this. Go here. It’s got the One in1, report. And it’s got the states too.

I think our police are looking like the Gestapo.

What did I say about carbon trading?

I didn’t think it was a good idea. That’s because I’m a heretic of The Church of the Global Warming. But even if your a believer, you should watch the video.

Two communities affected by one new global market – the trade in carbon dioxide. In Scotland a town has been polluted by oil and chemical companies since the 1940s. In Brazil local people’s water and land is being swallowed up by destructive monoculture eucalyptus tree plantations. Both communities now share a new threat.

As part of the deal to reduce greenhouse gases that cause dangerous climate change, major polluters can now buy carbon credits that allow them to pay someone else to reduce emissions instead of cutting their own pollution.

What this means for those living next to the oil industry in Scotland is the continuation of pollution caused by their toxic neighbours. Meanwhile in Brazil the schemes that generate carbon credits gives an injection of cash for more planting of the damaging eucalyptus tree. The two communities are now connected by bearing the brunt of the new trade in carbon credits.

The Carbon Connection follows the story of two groups of people from each community who learned to use video cameras and made their own films about living with the impacts of the carbon market. From mental health issues in Scotland to the loss of medicinal plants in Brazil, the communities discover the connections they have with each other and the film follows them on this journey.

The Carbon Connection, is a Fenceline Films presentation in partnership with the Transnational Institute Environmental Justice Project and Carbon Trade Watch, the Alert Against the Green Desert Movement, FASE-ES, and the Community Training and Development Unit.

The video is here. It’s called “The Carbon Connection”.

They’re eco-consciousness is pure shit.

They said it better than I could have.

I said it like this. You feel that the end of the world is right around the corner. The end of the world and you believe it. It’s on all the news. Then you hear about something that disproves the theory that the earth is going bye-bye. You would think that it would on the news. I would think people would be dancing in the streets. But it’s not happening.

They said it much better than me. It’s from the Boston Globes Where’s global warming?

This will make you spin too.

I went and re-watched a video the other day. I watched part of it a few years ago, and I watched the whole thing the other day. I have decided to share it with you. What’s it about? It’s called “Orwell Rolls In His Grave”. I will let someone explain it to you.

“A marvel of passionate succinctness, Robert Kane Pappas’ docu critically examines the Fourth Estate, once the bastion of American democracy. Docu asks, “Could a media system, controlled by a few global corporations with the ability to overwhelm all competing voices, be able to turn lies into truth?…”

– Variety

You can read more him and his work by reading these interviews: interview1 interview2. You can go to his website here.

You can do that by clicking here. This is a Google video, but it didn’t look right on my computer. My only other choice is to have all these YouTube video feeds one after the other. There’s eleven of them.

You should view them all, and think.

A new tagline.

Posted: March 3rd, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: Personal | No Comments »

A new tagline is unveiled here today. I said earlier that I would replace the tagline once a month, so here it is.

I am not blaming those who are resolved to rule, only those who show an even greater readiness to submit. ~ Thucydides

Who is this Thucydides? You can read about him here.

It’s the “greater readiness to submit” line that gets me. You are sheeple. Both parties.

Last month’s tagline:

Look back over the past, with its changing empires that rose and fell, and you can foresee the future, too. ~Marcus Aurelius

America’s not Number One anymore

I was watching a video of some CBS show that focused on the business relationships we have with China. It seems China has been playing dirty. They have been playing dirty by the value of their currency (yuan) against our currency (dollar). They have kept the yuan cheaper than the dollar and that’s not fair. I don’t know why it’s not fair, but our leaders think it’s not fair. You can see that in the video. What got to me is how nonchalantly it’s told we have to make these loans from a foreign government. If your nation is first in the world, you don’t have to got begging in the streets.

And who do we get to buy our debt? The Chinese. These Chinese who in 2007:

The Chinese government has begun a concerted campaign of economic threats against the United States, hinting that it may liquidate its vast holding of US treasuries if Washington imposes trade sanctions to force a yuan revaluation.

I guess they are the only rich enough to buy our debt.

I don’t think so. I would think Saudi Arabia would be rich enough. Do you think China’s got some evil, diabolical plan? I do. They have already stated such. Our leaders don’t care.

And I’m not poking at Democrats, if we had a Republican administation the names would surely change, but the message would not.
